Practice

Choose short recall checks to strengthen memory, or longer exam questions to practise applying ideas and earning marks.

The answers, mark schemes and marking guidance are ScholarLab study material, not official mark schemes. The terms say where the questions come from.

How to get the most from practice
  1. Work from memory first. Close notes and resist revealing the answer early.
  2. Use a realistic time limit. For Exam Question Practice, allow roughly one minute per mark before checking.
  3. Compare carefully. Look for the scientific idea and reasoning, not only identical wording.
  4. Mark honestly. Use red, amber and green to decide what should be revisited.
  5. Return later. A correct answer once is useful; retrieving it after a gap makes it more durable.
