University courses

Search degrees, check A-level, IB Diploma or AP subjects, or follow a pathway from school subjects to a career. None of these tools is an offer of a place.

Explore a pathway

Move between school subjects, a degree and possible work. A link is not an offer and not proof that a degree is enough for a regulated job.

Choose a branch, then a course.

GCSE and IGCSE preparation

  • English and mathematics

Often expected at GCSE or IGCSE. Grade thresholds differ, and International GCSEs are not automatically the same as GCSEs.

A-level subjects

Nothing to show for this stage yet.

University courses

  • Games Development

Subject requirements differ. Programming routes often prefer Mathematics or Computer Science. Design routes may accept a wider range. Check which kind of games degree it is.

  • Computer science

An alternative or related degree, not automatically an equivalent qualification.

  • Graphic design

An alternative or related degree, not automatically an equivalent qualification.

  • Software Engineering

An alternative or related degree, not automatically an equivalent qualification.

Possible careers

  • Computer games developer

Direct qualifying route. A relevant degree can help, but studios usually hire from a portfolio.

  • Software developer

Common route. Programming-heavy games degrees can also lead to other software work.

  • Graphic designer

Alternative route. Art roles need an art portfolio. A programming games degree may not provide one.

This is a possible educational route, not an offer of a place and not a prediction of a job. Direct, common, alternative and postgraduate routes are not the same thing.
